The exhibition Jewels of Newar Art was held at the Siddhartha Art Gallery in Kathmandu, Nepal from April 26 - May 15, 2011. The exhibition showcased a wide range of Newar art, including paintings, sculptures, and metalwork from the collection of Purna Man and Anjana Shakya and Bodhisattva Gallery. The exhibition exhibited 25 years of collection by the collectors and gallery. The exhibition was curated by Mrs Sangeeta Thapa (Director of Siddhartha Art Gallery) and Mr. Prajwol Man Shakya (Director of Bodhisattva Gallery) while the exhibition catalog was written by Dr. Dina Bangdel. The exhibition was a critical and commercial success. It attracted large crowds of visitors, and it received positive reviews from critics. The exhibition helped to raise awareness of Newar art and its importance to the cultural heritage of Nepal. The exhibition also helped promote the highest quality of Newa art to the local audience who had generally only seen commercial art works from Thamel and Patan. It was the first time, Newa art was exhibited at this level and the first time ever a private collector showed not just their collection but also brought the artists to the front stage .
Embodied Enlightenment

Embodied Enlightenment is an art exhibition that was held at the Nepal Art Council, Kathmandu, Nepal from May 29 to June 9, 2016. The exhibition showcased the work of Samundra Man Singh Shrestha, a contemporary traditional Newa art artist. Mr. Purna Man Shakya and Bodhisattva Gallery spent five years purchasing paintings of Mr. Shrestha for well over five years from the artist, resellers, and local and International collectors. The exhibition was to show the journey of Mr. Shrestha from his first painting to his most recent painting. The exhibition was co-curated by Mr. Prajwol Man Shakya (director of Bodhisattva Gallery) and Dr. Dina Bangdel. The exhibition provided an overview of Shrestha's work and its place in the tradition of Newar art. The exhibition was visited by over 6000 visitors and is still considered as a landmark exhibition for Newa art.

Jewels of Newa Art - Hyatt Regency Edition was exhibited at the Chaitya Courtyard, Hyatt Regency Kathmandu specifically for the guests of the hotel. This started as an annual event during the week of Buddha Jayanti but later as per the request of the hotel became a bi-annual event. The exhibition primarily showcased statues of various Buddhist deities with a small number of Paubha paintings.

In this exhibition we have curated and featured 26 forms of Avalokiteshvara along with two digital images. Featured in the exhibition are 14 nationally and internationally renowned paubha artists, similarly fifteen renowned statue artists, one miniature artist and two Padmapani sculptures that were exhibited at WeltMuseum Wein, Vienna, Austria in 2019 for a year. This is a one of the kind exhibitions for the first time with a voice tour, please bring your headphone/earphone along with you in order to experience the exhibition fully. It is always nice to see beautiful artworks but art would have a much higher value and meaning if we know about its importance in our lives, their stories and how they are created.
